Miles Circuit This series of positions is excellent at helping relieve pressure on the low back, and possibly turn a mal-positioned baby if the pregnant person is having back labor. It's an excellent tool to use in Early Labor to help ensure your baby is in an excellent position, and the pregnant one gets to rest for the first part! Immersion in Water for Labour and Birth The Royal College of Midwives supports labouring in water for healthy women with uncomplicated pregnancies. The evidence to support underwater birth is less clear but complications are seemingly rare. If good practice guidelines are followed in relation to infection control, management of cord rupture and strict adherence to eligibility criteria, these complications should be further reduced.

This study shows that planned home births do not increase the risks of perinatal mortality and severe perinatal morbidity among low-risk women, provided the maternity care system facilitates this choice throughout the availability of well-trained midwives and through a good transportation and referral system.
